The chief executive officer & an entrepreneurs

how hard do you have to work to become a CEO or an entrepreneur? That is the question I asked myself. I think an entrepreneurs and CEOs have alot of Ideas and visions. However I am confused if education, wealth , connections( is it all about who you know), and luck have anything to do with becoming the person in charge of an organiztion or company. People find succes online by making money based on an idea they elaborated on. tell me, how do you do it?
